I stopped playing RS when the bot nuke came out, but I've recently tried to play again but when I try to log on it says I can't because I have a negative credit, which means I owe them money. They're saying they gave me membership I didn't pay for, which I don't see how that is possible. Up till the bot nuke, my friend paid for my membership via paybyphone, and the week before the bot nuke when he would've renewed it, I never asked him to since I didn't wanna waste his money. I asked him, he said he never tried to get money back from jagex or anything, and doesn't see why this would happen. I've already sent them an email about 3 days ago, but they haven't responded. any ideas on what I should do? this is the SECOND account that this has happened to, but the first was actually my fault (got hacked, parents canceled membership via credit card company by blocking jagex from withdrawing money instead of canceling through runescape)

The only way to get this resolved is by contacting Jagex, and you may have to refund them.

this happened to my main for no reason as well..
dont bother contacting support as jagex will send you useless info that is copy+pasted that just basically says we wont give you your account back unless you pay

PayByPhone? If PBP chargebacked then you'd have negative credits.

You get negative credits from using a bad pin.
Did you buy a pin recently? The purchaser (if not yourself) may have chargedback the payment which leaves you with negative credit, locking your account until it's paid off.
If you did buy mem, make sure everything's ok with your credit card (if that's your form of purchase) or look into it if you purchased another type of membership upgrade.
I don't think Jagex would've just randomly have you negative J-coins.

You have to buy J-Coins to unlock your account

you need to buy the "J coins" option on the upgrades page and you need as many as it takes to balance it out. Good Luck.
