Reason why: There is no reason it should be open,  there are way to many people posting irrelevant stuff and trolling, it should stay as an update thread and that's it. People can review it, and that's all. That's how it always should of been. I don't expect this to happen, but there really is no reason to keep it open for replys.

You wouldn't want all these posts to be made in Bot Discussion as individual threads. I think it should not be closed.

One Dot Discussion thread Q & A. Simply with rules not allowing any spam! thousands of posts are spam on the current thread.

Also most questions have been asked thousands of times, they can put a Q&A on the bot update thread. WIth the answers on there.

The threads main purpose is to inform, however the other uses of such thread are that is acts as a 'spam magnet'. This stops these questions being posted as topics in other sections and therefore reduces the amount of work moderators have to do.

I am a moderator on RuneDream and the amount of spam - even while we are much smaller - is insane and takes a lot of work to remove. One thread to attract all spammers is much better.

A lot of people view that thread, and as we have great members here it gets reported almost instantly. If the thread was locked they'd post it somewhere else, where it may remain for a longer amount of time.

haha I like the "spam magnet" logic

I agree though, it should be locked.. just seems like a place for people to increase their post count and to piss each other off.

I think the admins changed the date of the original few posts, I recall it having October 25th on it one day, then they all of a sudden changed it.. but im not sure.

One of our moderators went rogue a long time ago now and did what we thought to be hard deleting all our announcements. Shortly after the bot nuke I stumbled across our multi-thousand page thread in one of our hidden sections. As this thread is a powerbot tradition, I brought it back however this will be the last time the thread is used as people seem to find the creation date confusing.
