What is the best machine to bot on?

Best Answer Silentium, 29 June 2013 - 04:41 PM

First of all, laptops aren't really good for this kind of stuff, they use a different type of CPU that will not perform well when doing this due to poor quality coolers which lead to overheating.

I have a bad i3 processor and 8GB of ram, and that makes me able to run 5 bots and a game that I'm playing (Smite, BF3, Alan Wake, etc.)

If I really wanted to, I could run a few more bots and not play a game.

I recommend getting a good i5, something like the 3570K or better. I also recommend getting 8GB, halving your ram usually is the amount of bots you're able to run, depending on your CPU. If you really want to run more than 6 bots, get 16GB.

I've been botting for over 3 years now and what I've found is my machine get's really hot after about 12 hours of botting and I have to shut it down or stop the bot. Then I go on the forums here and see these 55 week proggies for iDungeon and other scripts. Thus the question of this topic. What is the best machine to bot on? I'm currently on a Lenovo Y580 Laptop with no external cooling but pretty good specs. (Nvidia GTX 660M graphics, i7 processor). Yes I understand I can simply buy external cooling such as a cooling pad but I want to buy a computer or something that can run a bot for extended periods of time i.e. weeks or years. Any feed back is great.

I'd suggest waiting until the ban waves are "over" before you make the investment.

Don't try to get those massive proggies on a laptop, obviously... if you buy/make a desktop with a good cooling system, you can theoretically run a script for years straight

well it is laptop and cost around $1,300.. I didn't really want to buy it but school forced me to as i ended up with it.. If i were you I'd research about computers abit because its not going to be fully dedicated to botting? I think its mostly cpu and ram which should be the main focus.
